Patina Goes Plush

Just like in week 2 with coral, as soon as I saw the swatch for this week, I knew exactly what I was going to wear. 

This week's color is one that I already wear quite often in SL.   I love turquoise tones, they match my eyes so well...*grins..ahem...back on track!  I've had this dress for a little while now, all cozied up in my inventory and just waiting for its chance.  This was it's week!  I am so in love with sweater dresses to begin with, AND, it was in the perfect color for the challenge, ergo...a win win for the Aev's this week!

As I began to create the look around the dress, I did as I so often do, and just let things happen organically.  I knew I wanted leggings or tights under the dress and knew I had just unpacked the outfit these leggings are from a couple of weeks ago.  I thought they might work so I put them on and it was like....Yusss!!  These leggings just complimented the dress so well and as a bonus they kept my arse from hanging out for all and sundry to see!

Taking my cues from the leggings, I chose a vintage ETD tote in a rich purple leather and suede boots from Indyra in a dark teal shade.  Alright!...this look was rocking!!  I was dancing happily up in my sky closet.

Time for sparklies!   Digging through my jewelry box I searched for and pulled out a couple of my favorite Random Calliope rings from a few years back and the Soar set from Earthstones that I simply adore.  All that was needed was some bangles for my wrists and I kept those casual.  Some silver bangles from Spork and a layered set from Miel did the trick nicely.  All that was left was to slick on a fresh coat of nail polish, and Week 5 was done!

I have to say, this is my favorite look so far, what do you think?

**Oh and on a separate topic, coming up with titles for your blog posts gets a little hard sometimes, ...my only reasoning for this post's title is that I'm wearing "plush" items, a comfy cozy sweater and some divinely soft leggings.  that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Aeva's Bunny Birthday Fun!

so as most of you know, it was my RL birthday on Saturday and I had an all around fabulous day in RL, topped off with some squeetasticness in SL.

I saw these bunny avies at The Seasons Gacha and knew I had to try my luck....and holy crap...I got the one I wanted on the first shot!!!  Aeva's birthday luck FTW!!  ME in my Beetlebones MESH Bunny Avie in Sesame.

Off I raced home to take some celebratory birthday pics in my pink birthday pose set from Glitterati.

This years birthday?.....best birthday EVER!!

Iron Maiden

When searching my inventory for this week's color, I did what I always do and tried searching every possible alternate name I could think of for the color...I searched gray, grey, smoke, pewter, mist and of course iror, and while I had some things, nothing came close to the swatch, so finally I tried silver, thinking what the heck and there it was...this gorgeous silver satin and silk dress that just begged to be used for this week's challenge.

At first I thought I was going to use pops of color to compliment the gown, but I found this lovely satin bolero from Nardcotix in black and so I went with black as my accent.  I wasnt sure of my choice until I walked out of my bedroom after dressing and my mother and brother both went...WOW!

After reassuring me they meant WOW in the "girl you are smoking hot" way and not the "girl you are a hot mess" way it was off to take pics and complete week 4.  What do you guys think?..like it?

Have I mentioned just how much I'm enjoying this challenge??  It's just occured to me that my border is pretty darn close to next week's color...lol...and I did this pic several days ago...I need to go play the lottery!

Indigo, Indigo...wherefore art thou Indigo??

Ok so yes, my title's a bit odd this week...but if you'd gone thru the search I did in order to find the exact shade of indigo to match Luna's swatch AND my style, you'd totally get it!

See, when I started this challenge I said to myself...."self...we are going to try and use only what we have in our inventory, and if we have to buy something, it MUST be something we would actually wear again and that matches and shows who we are!!" 

I refuse to wear/buy something just because it is in the color for the week...it has to be something that I actually like, something I would wear again.  I know I know...I'm making things harder for myself, but hey...I never said I was normal, lol.

After much browsing and searching, and finding more god awful items then I care to remember...I stumbled upon this totally cute dress from fri.day.  I immediately knew it was the one and set about creating the look. 

The sleeves and skinny tie immediately set my mind a whirling to a retro 80s vibe and voila...Aeva the sexy librarian who listens to Duran Duran and <3's John Taylor was born!

Luna's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge

So far Ive been having a blas with this challenge, even with all the craziness of finding something in electric indigo...(the pic I'm currently working on).
