Sunshine, On My Shoulders Makes Me Happy

Cheesy John Denver quotes aside, I do love the feel of sunshine on my shoulders...demmits, I cannot say those words without singing them!...ahem...I digress.  I seem to do that alot in this blog.  Feel free to laugh with me, sing with me or silently curse me under your breath, I don't mind!

This week's color inspired me to put aside my sweaters and break out the summer wear in anticipation of winter's end....please please please let it be soon!

I remembered I had this totally adorable outfit from G*Fields that had been a group gift last year and it was perfect for my mood.  All I needed were some bangles for my wrists and a pretty glass ring necklace that I have had for years.  I didn't even bother with shoes.  Who needs them when you have grass this lush to tickle your toes?!

For Love of Sweaters and Raspberries

It's week 8 of Luna's Challenge and I'm only just a lil behind.  Folly threw me for a little bit of a loop, but as soon as I saw Dark Raspberry I was right back on track!

By now you all know of my love affair with sweater dresses.  Some might call it an obsession really.  There's just something about a scrummy soft sweater that hugs all your curves and feels so cushy smooshy soft...ahem...'scuse me...I digress.

Anywho's, I know this sweater is a tad darker than the swatch, but it was close enough that I had to wear it.  See, I have had this sweater since August of 2008 and I love it just as much now as I did back then.  I think its a testament to a truly well done classic piece that will never leave my closet.  The texture on the sweater is simply divine and way ahead of its time for being a piece created in 2008.  It is perhaps my favorite piece of clothing I own in SL..I <3 it....ALOT!

Cupid's Folly

It's week 7 and this was honestly the first week that really presented a challenge for me as I had absolutely nothing but a bra and a pair of panties in this week's color!

I set out on my search and really just had a hard time finding anything that was in the correct color or that called out to me.  Finally I stumbled upon this dress on the marketplace by a new to me designer, milevA.

It was perfect!  The design was very much Aeva and it was a spot on match for the color.  It was also only $55L and came with 4 different skirt options, and loads more goodies that I didnt show here!  Aeva wins again!  Huzzah!

With the color and the time of year in mind, I knew I wanted to do something with a little Valentine's Day feel to it.  I went searching in my cavernous inventory and found this bow & arrow pose set buried deep in my animation folder from 2010!!  Sometimes it pays to hold on to things, hahaha.

One of my friends from plurk pointed me to a great location for my shot and off I went.  After tweaking my WL settings to match the dress and my surroundings...Week 7 and my interpretation of Aeva as a fashionably chic cupid was in the bag!

Back Through the Looking Glass

I have a confession to make.  With the exception of a slight loop thrown by Week 3's electric indigo color, I've really not had a tough time with the colors so far.  Frankly I've quite enjoyed them!!

Alice in Wonderland has long been one of my favorite stories and so when I saw this week's color, my first impulse was to go full blown frills, ruffles, petticoats and bows.  But then I came up for air and thought...hmmm...what about if I take Alice back through the looking glass to her own time and she's all grown up now?  Maybe a young professional?...still with that air of innocence, but a grown-up now?

I found this sweater quite by accident.  I was out window shopping when I walked past it and my eyes were drawn immediately.  First. it's a sweater, and you all know my love for sweaters, second it was the most perfect shade of pale pale blue ever.  I didnt even bother browsing my inventory first to see if I already had something in Alice Blue...I bought the sweater on the spot and skipped home to create my look.

I've been doing dresses for the past few weeks and so I decided straight away that I wanted slacks for this look.  I admit it was not without its giggle inducing moments that decision.  I had to fight my natural gravitation towards skirts as I browsed my closet.  I'd say..."ooo..pretty skir...demmits...pants Aeva, pants...focus girl!"

I found this slightly vintage pinstriped pair from Coco in the perfect shade of grey in the back of my closet...perfect compliment to the sweater and really kept the look I was going for.

My favorite pair of peep toes from Maitreya and a few strands of blue pearls and I was ready for my trip.  The last item I grabbed were the silver glasses the Mad Hatter gave to me one day at our afternoon tea.  They are without a doubt my most prized possession and I cherish them most deeply.
